With just a screwdriver, the Chim-A-Lator line of chimney caps may be quickly mounted to the top of a masonry fireplace. With over 50 standard sizes, they come in both stainless steel and galvanized metal that is powder painted black, saving you both time and money.
Typically, chimney spark arrestors have two layers of mesh on the sides and a sturdy metal top. They distinguish themselves from other hats due to the mesh and offer defense against the environment and birds. A chimney pot or flue needs to be installed.
Its function is to collect combustible elements like sparks and embers from open flames or wood stoves. To prevent a fire from starting close to a tree, on a roof, or on combustible material on the ground, sparks must be put out.
