Fire doesn't have to be just heat; it can be an artistic medium of almost tactile look and feel. Wood has long been the traditional fuel, but today we have cleaner, more efficient choices. Even though the fuel has gotten better, people still want the romantic look and feel of a traditional wood fire. Now you can enjoy that nostalgia while enjoying a modern heating appliance with this 24" wide Kentucky Wildwood™ log set from Monessen®.
The 7 logs are expertly-crafted high definition pieces made from heavy and durable refractory cement, hand-painted to look like real wood with bark that has been lightly charred. They are stacked over a one-of-a-kind Natural Blaze™ burner that has burner holes drilled into a black base pan, hiding the gas hardware underneath. This system creates flickering yellow flames between the logs, accented by the rock wool 'embers' that glow in the fire, creating the illusion of a real wood fire. Volcanic stone piled around the fireplace grate to add 'ash' to the log set and helping to hide its artificial nature.
The burner includes a Millivolt electronic ignition system that uses a thermocouple to draw electrical power from the flame of a lit pilot light -- as long as it's lit, the log set will turn on and off without any outside electricity. This allows the fire to turn on and off with the flip of a switch or controlled by a wall-mounted thermostat, turning on and off as needed to maintain a temperature that you set.
For even more convenience, you can add a battery-powered receiver unit and remote control from Ambient Technologies. This addition allows you to turn the fire on and off as needed wirelessly from across the room! Some remote controls also double as a thermostat, turning on the fire to get to a temperature that you set.

Just wanted to let you know that the new fireplace doors look very nice and fit perfectly.
Ron helped me out very well on the phone (assistance with measuring). I was impressed with his follow-up too.
Fire pit has small flame
When I put my fire pit glass on top of the orafice, it seems like the glass is covering the hole/ports and the fire is very sporadic which is limiting the heat from the pit. Any suggestions on what I can do?
Spreading the word
All in all very pleased with the mantel and the overall experience. Web site was a little tricky as the only way I found to order was by phone. Have told many others about your products.
Wish I would have found you sooner
Thanks for the help - I had stalled for years in doing this without a local company - this on-line process worked very well - clear directions and followup to questions and good suggestions. Thanks!
