A simple modification makes this 24" wide grate just a little greater. Fireside America® has included an ember catching mesh over the bars. This little adjustment helps to catch large chunks of burning wood as they fall off the log, keeping them in the fire and near the rest of the fuel until they turn to ash. A wood-burning fireplace is pretty simple, but believe it or not there are ways that you can make them more efficient. This 28" wide grate from Fireside America® has an ember catching mesh over the bars to catch larger chunks of burning wood as the log disintegrates. This keeps more of the fuel in the fire until it's used up instead of drowning in the ash. The mesh doubles as a way to keep sparks from the ash bin from flying up and out of the firebox. Benefits and features: Ember bed allows more fuel to burn down in the basket rather than falling into ash 28-1/2" front width ...
A large wood-burning fireplace is a great source of heat... maybe too good. Let me explain: It can be hard to find a large enough fireplace grate to hold the logs in a stable position. Get one too small, and you'll have to use smaller logs that won't make the most of the fire. Get one large enough and now you're faced with the problem of weakness -- the larger it is, the more welds will be likely to break in the heat of a larger fire. Well, fret no more, friend! This massive 28" Lifetime™ log grate from Custom Firescreen Inc® is wide enough for large fireplaces. It's ...
Imagine a giant log in a massive outdoor fireplace, heating up your patio or garden area on the chilliest of autumn nights. Now, stop imagining, and start building: With a massive 28" width, this stainless steel log grate from Fireside America® combines traditional design with a time-tested weather and heat-resistant material. The 304 grade stainless steel diamond bar construction is solid and immune to the elements. Hefty welds enable it to hold large logs -- if you can fit it in your fireplace, this grate will probably hold it! Benefits and features: 28" front width and 25" ...
If this massive, 32" wide log grate doesn't hold the largest logs in your biggest outdoor wood-burning fireplace, well... I'm just not sure anything will! Fireside America® made this solidly-welded grate from 304 diamond bar stainless steel, giving it both strength and weather resistance. Good for indoor use (assuming your firebox is large enough), but great for use in outdoor fireplaces that have exposure to the elements. It resists corrosion as well as heat, and will give you a lifetime of reliable burns. Benefits and features: 32" front width and 27" rear width for ...
What's the point of having a giant fireplace if you can't burn large logs in it? In order to burn those large pieces of wood, you need a log grate wide enough to fit the firebox properly. And if you want to burn those logs just a little more efficiently, then you absolutely want his 33" wide grate from Fireside America®. An ember-catching mesh installed over the bars catches large chunks of wood as they fall off of the burning log, keeping more of the fuel inside of the fire. It also has the double effect of keeping hot cinders from the ash bin from floating up through and out ...
At 3' wide and 17" deep, this grate demands a massive fireplace to house it... But that's okay, because the extra long tines on the basket makes it deep enough to hold the largest of logs! Like all of the Deep Forest style grates from Custom Firescreen Inc, it can hold higher stacks of wood securely in its bar steel grate basket. The result is longer burn times before you'll have to refuel. It's solid enough to hold almost any heavy logs that will fit in your fireplace and withstand the hottest wood fire for a lifetime of use. Benefits and features: Extra-high front and back ...
If your wood-burning fireplace's firebox is over three feet wide, I have news for you: That is one massive fireplace. Fires in these appliances tend to get big and hot, if you can get one going for long. Why would your fire-time be cut short? Well, if you're forced to use a small log grate you probably can't fill the fireplace to get the most out of it. The 36" Lifetime™ log grate from Custom Firescreen Inc® will help you to correct that oversight with style! The flat bar basket is made from inch-thick bar steel of the highest quality. At 3' wide, it fits extra-large ...
A hearth rug is naturally a must for fireplace safety, so why not get a natural hearth rug? This 48" wide wool hearth rug can protect the floor in front of your hearth (and by extension, your entire house) from damage caused by incidental cinders, embers, sparks and ash from your fireplace. A choice of four subtle color patterns with a natural earthtone feel, soft to the touch -- perfect for putting emphasis on your fireplace and your home's decor rather than a more brightly-patterend carpet. At four feet (4') wide and over two feet (2') deep, this rug is perfect for medium to ...

Do I need a fireplace grate?

If you have a wood fireplace then, yes: You definitely need a grate of some kind. They hold the logs up and allow the air to circulate around them better than if they were on the floor, keep the direct heat of the fire off of your firebox's floor (helping it prevent warping and cracking to last longer), and allow you to clean ash while the fire is burning.

What is an andiron, and what does it do?

Andirons are primarily decorative, but they also serve an important function in older wood fireplaces. They help to prevent logs at the top of a stack that are on fire from rolling out of the fireplace if the logs below it shift as they burn.

Do the bellows work?

Bellows are a popular product for both wood and gas fireplaces. For wood fireplaces, they increase airflow in the firebox which can make a fire burn hotter and start faster. While in the case of gas fireplaces they are entirely decorative (and it is highly recommended that you never blow moist room air into an electronic ignition system), they are still high quality and add an air of authenticity to any hearth.

What is a hearth rug for?

Hearth rugs are fireproof mats that set on the floor in front of a fireplace that's level with the floor. They serve three purposes:

  1. They protect the floor from errant sparks and the hot ash of a wood fireplace.
  2. They protect wood and carpeting from the heat of fireplace, whatever the fuel.
  3. They look spectacular!

Do I need a hearth pad?

If you own a stove, it's a good investment. A hearth pad is primarily for freestanding stoves to protect the floor around the base from heat, ash, and sparks. They also help to distance the stove from minimum combustible clearance.

What's a fireback for?

These decorative plates are designed to set in the back of a fireplace and help to reflect more heat from the fire back into the room rather than through the chimney wall. Most popular with masonry wood fireplaces and coal baskets, they can occasionally work with masonry fireplaces that have gas logs installed after the fact, but not usually with factory-built gas fireplaces.

What's a "trivet?"

A trivet is a grate that sets on top of a traditional wood/coal stove or Franklin style stove so that you can use the radiant heat at the top to set pots on for heating water or cooking. They are usually ceramic and help to keep a pot directly off the stove so that the finish doesn't get scratched.

What does a steamer do?

A steamer is just a vessel that holds water. It sets on top of a wood stove or coal stove so that as the top heats up, the water evaporates and helps to put moisture into the air to combat the dryness of the wood fire and winter air. Some steamers have a "half" profile designed to set on the narrow top of some wood fireplace inserts.

How is architectural mesh different than fireplace mesh?

There are really only two differences:

  1. Architectural mesh can be cut MUCH larger than fireplace mesh.
  2. Because it might not be exposed to fire, more finishes are available.

Architectural mesh is typically used as an decorative room divider indoors, wind screens outdoors, and as safety screens in industrial environments (like welding and fabrication shops). It can be made from different colors and polishes, and some architectural mesh can even be dipped in acrylic for a smoother texture in bright colors.

Do you have a safety screen for my factory-built fireplace?

We can get many parts and components for fireplaces from various manufacturers, and we can even get custom screen doors and mesh for others. If you don't see a screen for your manufacturer or model, you'll need to write that information down and give us a call at (888) 986-1535 or email us the information so that we can get you a quote.

Do you have a remote for my fireplace?

Not every gas fireplace can have a remote installed on it, even those with electronic ignitions. Most remotes are third party and for use with specific brands and models of fireplace, and sometimes they require additional modification to the burner hardware. It's best to check your manual and talk to a local installer to see if your firebox or gas log set can be used with a remote before ordering.

Root beer Fire Glass Beads 3/8-1/2 inch
BUYER BEWARE!!! The website picture is a poor representation of the true color of these beads. The actual color is significantly darker. If you wish to return item you will be charged a restocking fee and the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund. I'm not quite sure on how they calculate their shipping fees (considering that the item cost $70.50 with FREE SHIPPING no matter where they are shipping to). The refund policy of charging a restocking fee on top of shipping costs is certainly NOT customer friendly! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU ARE CERTAIN YOU ARE GOING TO KEEP YOUR PURCHASE. Simply put, their refund policy makes item unworthy for return.
