A woodstove without a thermometer is like a car without a speedometer. Informed operation of your stove’s controls shows you when the fire consumes wood too fast, exceeding the stove’s efficient operation zone.
It’s impossible to know accurately, by looking at the burning flames, the temperature of your stove and flue. This thermometer enables you to avoid burning too hot, so you can prevent damage to your stove.
An under-fired woodstove is smoky, causing hazardous creosote and tar to form in the stove pipe. The thermometer informs you when burn rate is too cool, and tell you when optimum firing is achieved for safe operation.
For Use On Single Wall Stovepipe - Attaches magnetically to flue pipe. Best placement is 12" above top of stove
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR MOST SINGLE-WALL STOVEPIPE:
Above 475°F (250°C): Wasting energy, may damage woodstove, safety hazard. Over-firing a metal stove consumes wood without generating additional room heat, because excess energy is lost up the stovepipe. Higher temperatures will often be reached on initial firing, but are not advised for continuing operation.
230°F to 475°F (110°C - 250°C): Ideal operating efficiency. Complete combustion, safest operation.
Below 230°F (110°C): Smoky, dirty fire, safety hazard. Burning too cool results in incomplete combustion, causing formation of hazardous soot and creosote in chimney. May clog catalytic combustor.

ceramic high heat glass
Fit like a glove. Nice cut. Fast shipping . I was amazed
Hello, I got your glass today and installed it. I was impressed in how easy it was to put the plugs in that hold the glass in place – nice engineering there. I bought the wrong color – see the attached picture (the new pane is 2nd from left) – it should be lighter. I’ll replace it sometime before I move out; in the mean time it’s a warning to not leave the fire unattended. Thanks for the great packaging, too – I can use that cardboard in projects so it’s going to be reused.
I went by the description they had but apparently it was not the actual size of the product but the size of the fireplace. No where on the website do they have the diameters of the actual product. After getting the product I noticed it was the wrong size and tried returning it. They want 20% restocking and I pay for shipping due to the terms but in the terms and condition it also States you'll get a courtesy email to make sure you purchase the right product before it ship. Well after I said that they stop emailing me. CJs Hearth & Home Team The description on the web site said that it was a screen for a direct vent fireplace. This screen is made only for the Monessen models listed in the ...
